# Regions and platforms

> Choose the countries Echod asks from and the AI platforms it asks.

Every active prompt is sent to every enabled AI platform from every enabled region. Regions and platforms therefore multiply the number of answers you collect, and they are capped by your plan.

## Regions

AI platforms tailor answers to where the question comes from. A buyer in Germany and a buyer in the US can get different brands, sources and even languages for the same question. A region in Echod is a country; Echod collects answers as a user in that country would see them.

Manage regions in **Project Settings > Regions**:

* **Add Region**: search for a country and add it.
* **Toggle**: turn a region off to stop crawling it without removing it.
* **Remove**: delete the region from the project. Topics are no longer tracked there.

All topics are tracked in all enabled regions. To track a different set of topics in another country, or to track another language, create a separate [project](https://docs.echod.ai/account/projects.md).

> [!TIP]
>
> Start with the country where most of your revenue comes from. Add more regions once you know which topics matter, since each region multiplies the number of answers per crawl.

## AI platforms

Echod can track six AI platforms:

| AI platform | What Echod collects |
| - | - |
| **ChatGPT** | Answers from OpenAI's assistant, including its web search results and shopping cards. |
| **Perplexity** | Answers from Perplexity's answer engine, which almost always cites sources. |
| **Gemini** | Answers from Google's assistant. |
| **Google AI Overviews** | The AI summary shown above Google search results. Google does not show one for every search; when it does not, the chat is marked **Not Triggered**. |
| **Google AI Mode** | Google's conversational search mode. |
| **Copilot** | Answers from Microsoft's assistant. |

Manage them in **Project Settings > Platforms** by switching each one on or off. The tab shows how many your plan allows and how many are enabled.

## Plan limits

| | Starter | Pro | Enterprise |
| - | - | - | - |
| AI platforms per project | 3 | 5 | All |
| Regions per project | 1 | 3 | Custom |

If more regions or platforms are enabled than your plan covers, for example after a downgrade, the extra ones show a **Not crawled** badge and are skipped until you upgrade or turn others off. See [Plan limits and coverage](https://docs.echod.ai/account/plan-limits.md).

## Choosing what to enable

* **Keep comparisons fair.** Turning platforms on and off changes the mix behind your overall numbers. When you change platforms, compare results per platform for a while instead of the combined total.
* **Use the Platform filter.** Every report can be narrowed to a single AI platform and region. See [Filters and periods](https://docs.echod.ai/analyze/filters-and-periods.md).
