A project tracks one brand, on one website, in one language. Everything else in Echod (topics, prompts, competitors, regions, platforms and results) lives inside a project.

When to create another project

Create a separate project when you want to track:
  • Another language. A project’s language cannot be changed, so each language market needs its own project.
  • Another brand. For example, a second product brand or, for agencies, a client.
  • Another website. A brand with separate sites for different markets.
To compare the same topics in more countries that share a language, add regions to the existing project instead.

Switch between projects

The project switcher sits at the top of the sidebar and shows the current project’s name and language. Click it to pick another project. Every page then shows data for the project you selected.
Project switcher open in the sidebar, with Add project and the project quota at the bottom

Add a project

  1. Open the project switcher and click Add project.
  2. Go through the setup wizard, the same way as for your first project. See Quickstart.
The bottom of the switcher shows how many projects your plan allows, for example “1 of 4 projects used”. When you have used them all, Add project is disabled until you upgrade. See Plans.
Prompts are shared across all projects in your organization. Adding a project does not add prompts to your allowance; it shares the same pool.

Pause and resume a project

Pausing stops all crawls for a project while keeping everything it has collected. Use it for a project you do not need to monitor for a while.
  1. Open Project Settings > Project.
  2. In Project Status, click Pause Project.
Click Resume Project to start crawling again from the next scheduled crawl. Answers that would have been collected while the project was paused are not collected later.

Delete a project

Deleting removes the project and all of its data for good.
  1. Open Project Settings > Danger Zone.
  2. Click Delete Project and type the project’s name to confirm.
Deleting a project cannot be undone. If you might need the history again, pause the project instead.

Projects marked “Not in plan”

If your organization has more projects than your plan allows, for example after a downgrade, the extra projects show a red Not in plan badge in the switcher. They keep their data but stop crawling and cannot be changed until you upgrade or delete other projects. See Plan limits and coverage.
